Games Workshop‘s Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game brings the heroes, warriors and creatures of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit to the tabletop. The miniature range includes characters such as Aragorn, Gandalf, Frodo, Legolas, Gimli and Boromir alongside rank-and-file troops and larger creatures from across Middle-earth.
Rohan, Gondor, Mordor and the Elven realms offer very different army themes. Warriors and Riders of Rohan, Uruk-hai, Orcs, Mordor Trolls and Ringwraiths are examples from the wider range. Some character sets include more than one miniature, or separate mounted and foot versions of the same character, so the contents can vary considerably between kits. Army building follows the relevant army list, including the heroes and warriors available to that force. Scenario play offers another way to collect, focusing on the characters and troops needed to recreate a particular battle or scene from the stories. Rulebooks, army supplements and boxed sets can also belong to different editions.
